Mettler Family Vineyard Wedding: Stacy+Mike

Mettler Family Vineyards is a beautiful wedding venue (and winery) located in Lodi, California. At this gorgeous Mettler wedding, the event design and coordination was done by Shelley Attebery from Stylish and Savvy. This was my first time shooting a wedding at Mettler and I can’t wait to go back! Upon arrival, I immediately noticed how much shade there was and also the immense size of the bridal suite, which are both important in the Central Valley for different reasons. If you plan to marry in the summer, when temperatures can reach above 100 degrees, you definitely want a shaded ceremony site. The large bridal suite is a must for larger wedding parties or even family members who’ve traveled thousands of miles to witness the important event.

Onto Stacy+Mike…

Stacy and I met at Starbucks and it didn’t take long for me to realize she was a very laid back bride-to-be (which makes my job super easy). When chatting about the images that were important to her, she stressed that while the details were nice, she was more excited to have pictures of her and Mike with their friends & family. The meaningful moments were important to her.

The day of April 23rd, 2016, came with the threat of rain which would have sent most brides into a panic but not Stacy. We had chatted, during our Starbucks meeting, about the possibility of rain and the backup plan (it’s always good to have a backup plan because even in sunny California, sometimes it DOES rain) her response was, “Well, it rained on my sister’s wedding day and is considered to be lucky.” Thankfully, it didn’t rain and proved to be the perfect Spring day to say, I do.

Mike will forever be known as The Cat Man to me, after listening to the Stacy’s sister joke about how Stacy immediately noticed his affinity towards cats. Good thing she didn’t let that deter her from falling in love with him! This laid back, down to earth couple was an absolute joy to capture and I’m so blessed to have been part of their day.
